EMPLOYEE0With V7.7 we added a very professional series of plugins from Air Music Tech which are considered the reference suite by many professional mix engineers. This offer enables you to expand your collection with new FX AIR has just released at a significant discount. Unfortunately the previous VST developers got shut down (Camel) or decided to discontinue their included products (Izotope) which is beyond our control.
I have purchased and installed the FX Plus Collection and now MixMeister (ver. 184.108.40.206) crashes when launched. I have posted a question to the AIR community, but thought that I might be prudent to ask here as well.
Are there any specific instructions that I need to follow to get MM to work with this new collection?
This company is crazy. The worst support, or lack off for that matter I have ever encountered.
They take your money and provide no feedback to your request. Updates are few and far between.
Save your money, it isn't worth it!
Mr Bangs is just a salesman with transparent sales patter! If only he dealt with the real issues as mentioned above!
So my story goes something like this...
I get an email in my inbox a couple of days ago. "BLACK FRIDAY SALE," it says. Hmm that's weird, I think to myself. I swear that looks like an email from MixMeister... But Brad...that company died years ago. Be realistic with your expectations. It simply cannot be.
So I deleted the email, refusing to acknowledge the slim possibility that MixMeister might be back in business.
I didn't want to fall for it. I didn't want to believe. I had given up years ago after spending hundreds of dollars on a piece of software that worked about as well as a broken clock radio.
Make sure you guard your emotions and proceed carefully, I told myself. Remember the last time you got your hopes up? Yeah, that was right before MixMeister absolutely trashed them.
But a small part of me was curious. It was my favorite piece of software after all. The crown jewel of mixing programs. A real beauty from back in the day.
So I visited the website. Got excited when I saw a big, bold 7.7 across the homepage.
And then it all went downhill. I tried to upgrade. I tried to download a demo version. I tried and tried and tried and once I finally got the clunky software working in low resolution mode, I realized that absolutely nothing had changed. A scam. A bold faced, capital-lettered SCAM.
When you've brought your software into the 21st century and are no longer stealing people's money, please come talk to me. But until then, screw you MixMeister. Still no retina support, still no multi-touch trackpad support. Please, sell your software to someone who actually cares about customers and let them develop Express. Let them rebuild Studio. Let them take Fusion and make it into the incredible piece of music-making magic it has the potential to be.
But until then, leave me alone. I've had enough of this love affair. I've been played one too many times. You've broken my heart over and over again and I'm not coming back until you scroll smoothly, zoom properly, and have the ability to handle modern file formats.
My tirade is done and I realize that posting this on Thanksgiving makes me a grinch of sorts. But I was so dang excited today when I heard the news of the 7.7 update. And then so dang hurt when I spent my afternoon trying to upgrade and install the software only to realize that nothing had changed.
Shame on you, Numark. Shame on you, MixMeister. You've taken enough of my money and I won't let you take any more of my heart.
Goodbye and good night.
